About Me

My name is Rachel McCarron.  I love to be outdoors exploring the world and am passionate about education, kids, geology, history, hiking, swimming, rock climbing, and disc golf.  I recently moved to St. Louis from Idaho so my husband could attend Washington University School of medicine.  I have four children who are 12, 10, 8, and 6.  My oldest is a girl and my youngest are boys.  I have been enjoying hiking and exploring with my husband and children.  A recent family emergency made me step away from my job working as a paraprofessional in the school district.  So I am taking the opportunity to catalog the local St. Louis parks.  This is a bigger undertaking than I originally thought. My current count is  320 city parks, plus private parks, county parks, state parks, conservation areas, and national parks.  Some of the parks are unlisted on Google and the cities are small enough that they do not have websites or have not added the parks to their websites.  So I hope you will enjoy reading about my journey as I explore my new home.  And most importantly, I hope that this website will help you to find new places to go and explore.
